Join us with drumming in the water! This program combines drum rhythms with pool fun. With this high energy aerobics class, let out instructor lead you in making your own beats and rhythms while exercising at your own pace!

This is a deep water, medium impact aerobics class designed to increase heart rate, burn fat, and strengthen muscles. A great workout for abdominals, buttocks, and thighs.

In this class, the instructor demonstrates different strokes, speeds, and lengths to encourage a more varied and challenging workout than traditional lane-swimming, while improving swimming technique.

Tour Richmond's first water pumping station, and learn the fascinating history behind this architectural treasure. Find out about work currently taking place to restore and protect the Pump House. The Pump House sits at the confluence of the Kanawha and James River Canals and is home to a section of the historic 3-mile Locks. Learn how these canals interacted with Pump House operations and what role they played in the history of Richmond.

These lessons will provide kayak instruction for young people, with an emphasis on having fun and feeling safe while paddling. Instructors will cover basic paddling equipment, strokes, and self- rescue geared toward little ones with lots of games and silliness in there too. Your child does not need to be a confident swimmer to participate, but does need to be willing to get into the pool while wearing a life jacket. All children will wear personal flotation during this program, and everyone will get into the water to float.

This program is intended for students who attend a 200 Day School. Camp at Bellemeade will only run 7 weeks, NOT the full summer. Any participant looking for a full 10-week program should enroll at another camp location. PRCF can not guarantee that participants will not be able to "transfer" to another location at the end of the 7 weeks at Bellemeade.

Our Summer Day Camp program will provide campers the opportunity to improve their social and physical skill sets in a safe and supportive environment while participating in athletic, environmental, and arts programming, going on field trips, and much more! Breakfast and lunch will be served daily courtesy of USDA Summer Meals for Kids Federal Food Program.

*Registration for City of Richmond residents opens February 17th at 1:00 pm. Non-city residents will not be permitted to register until March 30th.
*To receive the resident rate ($475), proof of City of Richmond residency (example - RPS report card, utility bill, rental agreement, etc.) will be required uploads at the time of registration. Please have this ready prior to beginning the registration process.

*$35 deposit due at time of registration.
*Campers must be 6 years of age or have completed a full year of kindergarten by the beginning of camp. If your child will not be 6 by the start of camp but has completed kindergarten, you will need to visit the community center in person or call the community center to register over the phone.
*Please note that some activities and field trips will require and additional fees and permission slips.
*There will be no camp on June 19th and July 3rd.

Lifeguard School provides entry level participants with the knowledge and skills to prepare for the full Lifeguard Training Course, in which participants have the opportunity to obtain their lifeguard certification.

The early bird gets the worm! Come out for a few hours of early morning bird watching. Seasoned veterans and fledgling birders alike are invited to help each other build birding skills and contribute to the birding community. Binoculars will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own.

Is your child interested in swimming during the school year? Has he or she just finished swim lessons and you're looking for more? Well look no further! The Richmond Riptides Swim Team is designed to offer a competitive swimming experience to youth ages 5 to 18 years old. Swimmers will have the opportunity to learn all four swimming strokes, build self-confidence, meet new friends, and become stronger swimmers in an exciting and fun environment! The Richmond Riptides Swim Team competes in the Virginia Community Swim League (VCSL), which is comprised of municipally sponsored teams from the Richmond and Tidewater areas, in USA Swim Meets, and local fun meets. All participants must be able to swim the length of a 25 yard pool on their own to be eligible to participate with the team.
