FrogWatch Community Science Initiative - JRPSFROG

Join the James River Park System for FrogWatch, a community science program that invites volunteers to learn to identify and track frog calls. With this training, you will learn about how amphibians are indicators for ecological health, learn monitoring techniques, and practice identifying the calls of frogs and toads local to Richmond. Once trained, you'll be ready to contribute valuable data to a nationwide effort to protect and track amphibians. No prior experience is needed!

Wilderness First Aid Course - JRPSWFA

Taught by Stone Hearth Learning Opportunities (SOLO) School of Wilderness Medicine, this 16 hour course will cover the Patient Assessment System for injuries and illness more than an hour away from definitive medical care. Topics include musculoskeletal injuries, responding to allergies and asthma, and many more. The nature of this course is fast-paced with a blend of lecture, demonstrations, hands-on skill practice, scenarios, and quizzes. The course can also count toward a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) recertification through SOLO.
